Obwohl "Okemah Rising" nicht unbedingt bahnbrechend ist oder neue musikalische Wege erkundet, handelt es sich dabei dennoch um ein gelungenes Album. Guthiers lyrischer Anteil zusammen mit der Energie der Dropkick Murphys ist einfach eine überzeugende Mischung.
